Aer Lingus are one of those companies that tries to make money from their customers ringing them – hence they’re providing an 0818 contact number instead of even an 1890 or 1850 one, and why they’re enormously protective of any geographical alternative number which could be used instead, no matter how much we’ve tried to get one that works.
SayNoTo1890.com readers have provided what they think could be two alternatives, though I haven’t tried either of them:
If you have free phone calls to the UK as part of your phone package, or if you’re using Skype or any other internet phone service, you could try calling this London number – +44 208 234 4333.
Alternatively, another reader suggests using their head office number and asking to be redirected from there. That number is 01 8862222.
If anyone tries either of these numbers, let me know how you get on.

A reader has asked us, and you all as well, if there is a geographical alternative anywhere available for Aer Lingus? The offending number on the Aer Lingus site is 0818 365 044.
There used to be a number available on this site, but it stopped working earlier this year
So, do you have an alternative number? Drop me an e-mail through the Contact Page if you do and I’ll publish here to share with everyone else.

We used to have a geographical number for Aer Lingus reservations, but we recently received an e-mail from a SayNoTo1890.com reader who told us that it was no longer working.
AER LINGUS. I have just tried the landline alternative and a voice message says the number is no longer in service, and then they trot out the 0818 number……..
We have since also received a request from another reader asking for the geographical alternative for Aer Lingus.
I had cause to ring Aer Lingus this weekend, who hide behing an 0818 number. My landline providers are either Euphony or Smart Telecom. Have you any idea what their charges are?
Do you know any number that will allow people bypass this 0818 number? Do you work for Aer Lingus and know how to get around it?
Let us know know by contacting us through our Contact Page and we’ll share it with everyone else. We won’t tell anyone where we found out from.
