RegTel don’t provide a geographical number

October 1, 2007 · Filed Under Government, No Alternatives

The independent regulator RegTel charged the oversight of the content and promotion of Premium Rate telecommunications doesn’t provide an alternative 01 or any other geographical phone number.

Complaints/Helpline (Mon-Fri 9.00-19.00, Sat 10.00-17.00)*

Telephone : 1850 741 741
Fax : 1850 741 747

They do provide an “Administrative” number. I wonder would that get you through to the complaints number anyway? Anyone tried it?

Administration Only (Mon-Fri 9.30 – 13.00 & 14.00 – 17.00)

Telephone : +353 1 6767025
Fax : +353 1 6767035

They do however helpfully point out the following:

The Complaints/Helpline is a Callsave number. Local and national calls from landlines should cost no more than 6.35 cent per call. For mobiles, prices charged as per mobile operator (Vodafone, O2, Meteor, 3 Ireland). Calls from mobiles, payphones and charge cards may cost more.
