There’s been a few e-mails sent to the site over the past couple of weeks looking for a geographical alternative for Sky Television. This seems to be one of the best kept secrets in the country at the moment – the only number they provide is the expensive 0818 number.
I’m wondering the direct number for SKY TV is I’m having terrible trouble with their service and have been kept on hold for ages during calls, and am nearly always on for 35-40 minutes on an 0818 number. Does anyone have the alternative number I can call?
And another:
I am from Ireland and live in the United States at the moment. My mother has recently had a hip replacement operation and is confined to home more often. I would like to order sky multiroom for her as a present but I cant get in contact with the Irish sales team because the number presented on the website is for Irish calls only (0818).
Can you please supply me with a number I can dial from overseas please? I have tried contacting Sky via email but to no avail.
We’ve been asked for this geographical phone number a couple of times in the past, but it seems as if there either isn’t such a number, or it’s very well protected by SKY.
Do you have a geographical alternative number for SKY? Or do you even work for SKY and know how your customers might be able to avoid using this 0818 number? Please e-mail us through our Contact Page if you do (privacy guaranteed).

Why dont you try 01-2148333. It is for Sy Homes but they are part of Sky Ireland, so should be able to transfer you or point you in the right direction.
@Johann – many thanks for that number.
If anyone tries this, please let us know how you get on – does it work or not?
Re Sky TV. I left a long message a couple of months ago regarding ways of possibly contacting Sky but my message wasn’t acknowledged or logged. I think it may be in the archives for October as I responded to an old request regarding Sky.
To the person in the U.S., you say you cant get them by email but there is a customer contact form somewhere on the site – I used it in the past and got a response. I think I had to trawl through the site to find it, maybe under “complaints”. As you are trying to order something they will be more likely to accommodate you.
My point in my previous message was however, that the reason we cant get an Irish landline number is that maybe there isn’t one. I have contacted them by phone and have always been put through to a Scottish call centre (although I have heard there is a Cork call centre). Anyway in my previous message I provided a UK landline number for Sky (with a Scottish prefix), which I got from the website “Say no to 0870″. This should certainly be of some use (as it can be cheaper to call UK than call 0818) and especially to the person in the U.S. It can also be called from Ireland using “access” numbers. Anyway the number is 01506 421722.(UK). Haven’t needed it myself, but good luck!
Sky are one of the worst offenders. We have published numerous numbers on SAYNOTO0870.COM and they have been disabled. See the thread which has over 700 responses:

It was announced a while back that revenue sharing was to end on 0870 numbers and that they were to be reduced to geographical call rate. This hasn’t happened, but a whole load of companies have moved away from these numbers to other revenue sharing ones in preparation and Sky is one of them.
Re Sky TV. I’ve just been on the “Saynoto0870″ website and it seems that Sky customers in UK are tearing their hair out trying to call them on landline numbers too, that Sky keeps changing them and blocking them. Let’s all cancel Sky! Do we really need it?
Re. SKY. As Edel has said above. I have sourced the direct number MANY times and posted it on various websites. As soon as I posted it, the number became invalid!
Also when I contacted them on the geographical number you immediately get assistance. There was ABSOLUTELY no waiting time with the usual WELCOME TO SKY dribble. Is there any way we can go to the media and unveil SKY and their BLATENT disregard for their customer base?
Hi there, can I just point out that there are 2 separate threads at the moment discussing Sky Tv. One is ‘anyone have a number for sky tv?’ and the second is ‘geographical alternative for sky tv’. The latter has most recent info. Can the 2 threads be merged to avoid duplicating ideas?
